It was 1-1 at the end of an even 1st half - Cameron having equalised just on h-t. Ardwick (later to become Manchester City) scored twice more. “A fluky goal” by Davie (MC) made it 3-2 before Paul (W) equalised when he pounced on some loose defensive play soon after for a creditable draw.

These teams met at Ardwick, in bleak weather, and before about 3,000 spectators. Weir and Rushton turned out again, and Davies was tried at centre. The Thistles kicked off, and Morris put in a good shot, but without success. After a slight relief, the home team again pressed, Milne, shooting over. The visitors' forwards ran down, but Douglas saved. Marshall returned and the Thistle forwards again pressed, Douglas saving finely. After each end had been alternately visited, Cameron equalised just previous to half-time, the score then being: Ardwick, one goal; Partick Thistle, one goal. Davies restarted, and almost directly afterwards the same player scored. The visitors next had a chance from a free kick, but the ball worked away. The home forwards took up the play, and McWhinnie eventually headed the third goal for Ardwick. The Thistles then roused up, and rushed in full force to the Ardwick goal, but Douglas was too many for them. A corner to Ardwick was the next item which proved fruitless. The visitors again rushed down and scored a rather fluky goal. This was followed soon after by Paul equalising through the loose play of the home backs. Nothing further occurred up to the call of “no-side,“ the final score being - Ardwick, three goals; Partick Thistle, three goals.
