The scorer of Thistle's opening goal is not explicitly stated in any of the papers that we've read (LUWE/ACA/GH/SC/WLC) but we've credited Ferguson who is inferred in the report by the supplier of our teamlines (WLC 6/12/1890): “Ferguson, securing the ball, dashed up the field and the Thistle secured their first goal.” He may or may not have actually scored it (50-50?) but it looks like the closest we'll get to the truth.
