A lively start saw chances missed at both ends. Rovers went ahead (McCorkindale error) and solid pressure made it 2-0. “A beauty“ (FFP) from Gilchrist and a “lightning shot“ by Clark made it 2-2 at half-time. Clark scored again then Gilchrist was carried off. Soon it was 3-4 but Clark and McLeod scored.

RAITH ROVERS v. PARTICK THISTLE – At Kirkcaldy. In the first half the play was evenly contested and each team scored over goals to the good. On resuming, the visitors secured three goals and the Rovers two, the final result of a very evenly contested game being:– Thistle, five goals; Rovers, four. In the second half Gilchrist of the Thistle, who was playing on the right wing along with Clark, got a nasty kick on the foot which necessitated his being carried off the field, and his injury was attended to by Dr. Campbell.
