teamline notes
  • Teamlines per GH, OH concurs.
dubious goals panel
  • OH (in no order) credits David Hislop, Willie Paul & Roddy McLeod as scorers, with 2 missing. After analyzing as many papers as we can, we've added Sam Clark & Andrew Johnston as the missing scorers, although we've resorted to taking the unusual step of relying on statements which are inferral rather than explicit. In terms of sequence, Hislop and McLeod are unopposed with the first and third, but the second is up for debate. Whilst the GH credits Willie Paul, both the SR and SCL have it as Sam Clark, so we side with the latter on the 2:1 contemporary basis. Away from the match report, the SR editorial reads that "Sam Clark filled the position creditably. Paul and Johnston were on good form." This adds further fuel to Paul having scored at least once. Looking at the whole picture, we've decided to make the educated guess that Johnston and Paul, on good form, were the two second half scorers, and will happily change should we ever find any contemporary evidence to the contrary.
