Thistle went ahead through Hislop early on but Linthouse equalised and went ahead just on half-time. Just after the break Thistle had a goal disallowed (48) then Linthouse scored again but Thistle scored twice more. It was 3-4 soon after but they equalised (85).

These teams met at Inchview, the ground of the Partick Thistle, in the first round of the Maryhill Charity Cup ties. The Cup was presented to Maryhill last season by Commisioner Dick, for the best club in the district. The Thistle kicked off. Hislop, after some fine play, sent in a shot which McFarlane failed to stop. The Linthouse, after a hard fight near goal, came away and managed to secure a corner, from which a scrimmage ensued and the ball put through, thus equalising the game. Shortly before half-time the Linthouse made a run for Thistle's goal and then, after a short struggle, Bowie put the ball through. The first half, which was very evenly contested, ended - Linthouse, 2 goals; Partick Thistle, 1 goal. In the second half the ball was only in motion three minutes when the home team put it through but the goal was disallowed. The visitors, however, scored a third goal. The ground men retaliated a minute later by scoring their second goal. The Thistle came away again and scored also. About five minutes from time the Thistle equalised, and the result was a draw - 4 goals each.
