The ground was “hard and dangerous“ (GH). Bolton won easily once they opened the scoring (18). It was 2-0 at half-time and the game was well won before Thistle hit the bar then Johnston scored late on from a goalmouth scramble for 6-1. Poor forward play let Thistle (“a well-balanced, sturdy lot“) (CFF) down.
