In dreadful wind and rain, it was fast and furious from the start. Thistle defended stoutly but Rangers took a 3-goal lead before McBride made it 3-1 at half-time. Paul went off for treatment but Rangers scored a 4th as he came back on. Johnston scored a 2nd but there was no way back.
