Kelvingrove Park. 1st recorded match against Celtic. Thistle went down to 10 men due to an injury to Ferguson the left winger (70). Celtic scored the only goal of the game near the end - although Thistle disputed the ball hadn't gone between the posts. (It was only Celtic's 13th recorded fixture.)

CELTIC v. PARTICK THISTLE - EXHIBITION TOURNAMENT (SEMI-FINAL ROUND). Played last night on the University Recreation Grounds before a large turnout of spectators. About twenty minutes before the finish Ferguson, the Partick Thistle left wing forward, twisted his leg and had to retire. Near the close of the game the “Celts“, by a determined effort, scored. Nothing else was done. Result: Celtic, 1 goal, Partick Thistle, 0 goals.
