SC, GH and several Ayrshire papers confirm that PT arrived a man short and a player called “J. Menzies of Avonhaugh” was drafted in. No position known. He doesn't appear in the OH (predicted?) line-up, so it's a bit of a dilemma as to who to leave out. We place him in the #12 position for the time being. Venue quoted in the AO.

Thistle (who turned up with 10 men but played a local player) went 1 up (Paul, 5) but Kilbirnie levelled soon after. Marshall headed in from a corner but Kilbirnie's pressure paid off with a leveller. Marshall got number 3 then a 4th came after half-time from Paul. “A first class match” (AYA). McCorkindale had some fine saves.
