With Paul and Johnston absent playing for Glasgow v Edinburgh, Thistle were second best to the visitors. Robertson equalised an early goal but Battlefield scored 2 in quick succession to lead 3-1 at half-time. A better showing after the break saw Robertson score from a corner but that was the end of the scoring.
