The match was keenly contested from the start. The Springburn side went 2-up before half-time. Goals from Johnston and Suter levelled things and play went from end to end before Thistle got the winner to end “a very pleasant game” (GH).

PARTICK THISTLE v NORTHERN – The Partick club opened their ground at Inchview, Whiteinch, with a friendly game, their opponents being the Northern. Both clubs were without a number of their usual players. In the first half, the visitors scored twice, while the home club could not get the ball through. In the second half the Thistle improved a good deal, and eventually kicked three goals, the game ending in their favour by 3 goals to 2.
