Play was even for the first 20 minutes or so then Thistle took the lead. Cambuslang disputed the goal, claiming it was off-side. They besieged Thistle's goal but without scoring but in the second half they scored with a shot off a post. Thistle played most of the second half with 10 men following the loss of McDonald to injury.
