This was a strange game in that it was 8-0 at half-time. A goal from Paul (1) set the scene and apart from a spell of pressure between 4 and 5-0, Saints were never in it. The St Mirren goalkeeper played well and prevented any further scoring. Paul (4), Marshall (2) and Young (2) got the goals. “A brilliant victory” (AN).
