Strangely, both GH & GEP list only 10 men for Thistle, but neither paper actually mentions that Thistle played a man short. The GH lists 10 for Cowlairs, but the 10v10 theory is blown by the fact that the GEP lists 11 Cowlairs players. Therefore, it's our considered opinion that the 11v11 is more probable and we've placed Jerry Suter (who is listed in the OH as having played) at #11 for Thistle. We've interpreted 3 of the GEP's entries as “misheard”, namely A. Caldwell (we list John Caldwell), A. Robertson (we list Bob Robertson) & Aitken (we list Milliken). The paper's 3 would otherwise be unheard of at this time, and this is backed up to an extent in the GH who also list Milliken at the expense of Aitken. The scheduled 3.00pm kick-off was delayed by 40 minutes.
