“A hard and well-contested game” (GH) with Fleetwood looking for revenge for the FA cup defeat. Thistle soon went 2-down but got things together and were 4-2 ahead before Fleetwood scored 2 more for 4-4. The winner came 5 minutes from time.

This match was played at Fleetwood yesterday, before 3000 spectators. Partick having put the Rangers out of the English Cup competition by 7 goals to nil at Glasgow, a tough struggle was expected. The Rangers kicked off, and with a bit of smart play Robinson got away and centred well to Bennett, who registered the first goal for the Rangers amidst loud cheering. Even play followed for about 15 minutes, when Anderton was called to save, and again the home team got well up, Bennett putting a second goal through. Partick now played hard, and scored in quick time, following up with two more, and led for a time, when the Rangers scored another two, and led until five minutes off time, when Partick again scored, and a hard and well-contested game resulted in a win for Partick by 5 goals to 4.
