Goalkeeper Duff was playing at centre-forward and scored the 1st goal. Miller added a 2nd then Paul scored a third before half-time. The second half saw Suter get the 4th just after the break. Paul got Thistle's 5th and his own 2nd just on the final whistle. “It was pretty one-side but none the less enjoyable” (AN).

A match between these two clubs took place at Muirpark, Partick and resulted in an easy win for the representatives of the Partick Thistle. The visitors were unable to score anything, and the home team ran up a good record. Shortly after the kick off Duff, who was playing at centre forward, sent the leather between the posts and secured a goal for his side. For some time afterwards the play was pretty evenly balanced, the ball being sent from one end of the field to the other, but ultimately Miller dribbled the leather neatly up to the Athletic’s goal and kicked goal number two. Shortly afterwards the Thistle, by a combined effort added a third goal to their score. Fortune continued to shine on the efforts of the Thistle during the second half. Suter kicked a neat goal almost immediately after the inauguration of the second half and just before the call of time the Thistle again carried their opponents fortress. The game thus ended in favour of the Partick Thistle by five goals to nothing.
