A brisk start saw even play but after 5 minutes Thistle lost a half-back to injury. Sportingly, a local player took his place. A cross from the right was headed home to give Strathmore the lead (15). Miller equalised for Thistle (40) but despite their greater share of the game it ended 1-1. 2 x 30 minutes were played.

The Thistle, Partick, met the Strathmore at the ground of the latter. The visitors won the toss and chose to play towards the east goal. Shortly after the start the game stopped owing to one of the Thistle half backs becoming disabled, but on his place being filled by one of the local team the game was resumed. When ends changed the Strathmore had scored one, but the Thistle had nothing to their credit. A hard tussle followed by the Thistle to equalise the game, which they did, and it stood in this position when time was called. The game consisted of two thirties.
