The game was as one-sided as the score suggests. 5-0 at half-time. 10 minutes from time there was divine intervention on behalf of the other Thistle and torrential rain brought the game (and their misery) to a premature end.

Muir Park was opened with a game against Glasgow Thistle. The Partick Brass Band played before the game and at half-time for the large gathering of supporters. Fittingly, Partick Thistle won the game 9-0.
