We've presumed the AN's (otherwise unheard of) 'Brackell' & 'Crossley' to be mis-heard 'Hacking' & 'Costley' as per their players of the day. The AN credits George Wilson with the third goal, whilst the SL reckons it was Jimmy Costley. We'll never know for sure, but we stick with the former as our teamlines supplier.

FA cup winners the previous Saturday, Olympic were reported to be sluggish due to the “convivial meetings” (AN) they had had to attend. Even so, 1-up at half-time and with 2 more goals towards the end, they were too good for Thistle who had their moments - especially playing downhill in the second half.
