This time it was 1-3 at half-time, Beaton having scored. A second half fight-back saw Thistle have most of the chances and goals by Ewing and Young drew the tie level again. Both teams were included in the next round - because there was no provision at the time for a 2nd replay.

For the second time, no victory was secured by either team, and both clubs therefore will be allowed to compete in the next round. I fear the Thistle are not so good as they were last year, and yet only the other day I had a conversation with genial Mr. Rose, who said they were playing a far better game than last season. If that be the case, and I think Mr. Rose should know better than anyone, for he is always with his team—the Cambuslang must be a very much stronger club, and some of our city authorities think they are. To take three goals of the Partick Thistle on the latter's ground is a feat which goes to show that they are players of considerable power.
