Battlefield scored on the half-hour mark. Thistle were more positive in response but it was the home team that scored after a scramble. In the second half Thistle improved and eventually took control. Young scored with a header (70) before 3 more were added through Beattie, Paterson and Paton.

The Battlefield were too light metal for the Partick Thistle, who won a pleasant game by four goals to two. There are one or two neat players in the Battlefield, and already some of their members have made a name for themselves in the Queen’s Park team.
