The Perthshire side were the better team with the wind and they scored from a header just on half-time. In the second half Thistle soon went 3 ahead through Young (2) and Duff “putting in a ripper“ (GH). Suter hit the post and later scored then Young scored again to make it 5. “A very pleasant game“ (AN).

PARTICK THISTLE V. VALE OF TEITH.—Played at Whiteinch, Glasgow, on Saturday, before a fair turnout of spectators. The Vale, aided by the strong wind, were soon at the home goal, and kept the Thistle hard-pressed most of the first half, but did not score until a few minutes before half-time, when, from a corner, it was headed through. On changing ends, the Partick Thistle, aided by the wind, soon made matters hot for the strangers, Young scoring the first goal, thus equalising matters. Shortly afterwards, Young scored No. 2, and from a good centre by J. Suter Duff put in No. 3; then J. Suter, by a nice dodging run, scored the fourth goal, and immediately after Young added the fifth and last goal, time being called shortly after; the Partick Thistle thus won a very pleasant game by five goals to one. For the winners, Hendry, Suter, and Young played a splendid game; whilst for the losers Young, McKenzie and Stewart showed the best form.
