Partick went 1-up from a scramble (1) but a run from midfield and shot by Ramsay made it 1-1. Fine play led to Ewing making it 2-1 with a header before half-time. Paterson scored with “a splendid screw kick“ and 2 minutes later it was 4-1 (Inglis). “Young got the 5th before Partick pulled one back.“ (NBDM).

The defeat of the Partick on Saturday by the Partick Thistle gave great satisfaction to the partisans of the latter club, but probably the result would have been different had Munro, of the former, not been rendered hors de combat within five minutes of the start, and the referee been better acquainted with the rules and a little less partial in his decisions. The Partick Thistle have dubbed their ground “the undefeated” which is not to be wondered at. Very careful navigation requires to be exercised by strangers in steering clear of the “waves” and “breakers” which abound in the shape of hills and valleys. They intend to get it ploughed and harrowed before next season, which, doubtless, will give much satisfaction to visiting clubs.
