It was even until Ewing evaded some defenders and put Thistle 1-up (10). Young then scored with “a beautiful screw-kick” (DC). A scramble in front of goal made it 2-1 then Shankland made it 3-1 at half-time after a fine run with Ewing. An unidentified scorer made it 4. Thistle's play “was all that could be desired”.
