Thistle's farthest trip to date was played in the grounds of Brechin Castle - the club's first-ever New Years Day match. Curiosity drew a large crowd and the ground was in good condition, although a strong wind blew right down the pitch. To the background of a brass band playing selections throughout, Thistle ran out easy winners netting six goals without reply.
