The 5' 8 (9st 13lbs) midfielder signed for Tommy Bryce's Thistle on Friday, 26th June, 1998, having most recently been with East Fife. Aged 25, he made his debut appearance on Monday, 20th July, 1998, in a 2-1 friendly win away to Stenhousemuir. There were no goals for Mark during his spell with Thistle.
