Following on from John McVeigh, Tommy Bryce was another appointed and sacked within the same season. Blew hot and cold, and there was little patience for such erratic form in the third tier.

With Thistle embroiled in a battle to avoid dropping to the fourth tier, the S.O.S. went out to John Lambie, who answered the call. In an unusual move, Bryce was set to remain as a player for a short spell under the new boss, although it was all a little awkward, and he was soon granted a free transfer (back to Queen of the South) after just one game under this arrangement. In the end, Thistle finished in all-time low position of 28th in Scottish football, coming within a whisker of a dropping down to that fourth tier. It was a season to forget.

Tommy was in charge of Thistle for 37 games in total, and also managed at Glenafton Athletic (2013-2015).
