![]() Brian Graham was born on Monday, 23rd November 1987, in Glasgow. He had one spell as co-caretaker manager at Firhill. CO-MANAGERIAL CARETAKER SPELL(Tue-18-Feb-2025 ↔ Fri-30-May-2025; 101d) After the sacking of Kris Doolan, the club-board followed in the age-old tradition of looking within for a temporary solution, and club captain Brian Graham, together with U-18s coach Mark Wilson, were immediately announced as co-caretakers. The two - ex teammates at Dundee United and pals off the pitch - talked football together all the time so the partnership was very natural to both men.
Thistle were unconvincing throughout season 2024-25 and, although there were encouraging signs of a little more commitment from the players in many of the games, the end results were much the same. That said, securing 4th place was mission accomplished financially and, to be fair, injuries meant that promotion via the play-offs was never a realistic prospect. There was, however, an odd and disappointing twist to Brian's managerial tenure when, on the eve of the biggest game of the season (the semi final second leg at Livingston) he was in the media, explaining that if he doesn't get the manager's job, he couldn't see himself returning to the dressing room as a player, despite having 12 months left on his contract. Not exactly what anyone with Thistle at heart wants to hear at any time, least of all before such a crucial game. The subsequent 0-4 aggregate defeat came as a surprise to no-one. Following that defeat, Thistle, led by new sporting director Ian Baraclough (appointed 7 April 2025), drew up a shortlist which, according to media reports, included Brian Graham, Dougie Imrie, Paul Caddis and Jake McPake. It was subsequently reported that Brian Graham was offered the job, but turned it down. His co-caretaker pal Mark Wilson didn't need to be asked twice and, on 30 May 2025, emerged on his own as the new gaffer. On that bewildering note, Brian Graham's managerial tenure came to an end. Brian was in co-charge of Thistle, his only managed men's club, for 15 games in total. |
