Leon Jones was born on Saturday, 28th February, 1998, in Glasgow.

The 5' 11 (13st 2lbs) defender joined Ian McCall's Thistle for a trial in June, 2021, having most recently been with Kentucky Wildcats.

Aged 23, he made his only appearance on Saturday, 26th June, 2021, in a 3-2 friendly win away to Kelty Hearts.

There were no goals for Leon in his one-off game for Thistle.

At September, 2024, Leon's club-list included Heart of Midlothian, Kentucky Wildcats, Chicago FC United, Partick Thistle, Dunfermline Athletic, Eastern and Kitchee.

Jones represented Scotland up to under-17 level. Born by a Scottish father and a Hong Kong mother, he is also eligible to represent both Hong Kong and China. On March 20, 2013, Jones was named captain and made his international youth debut in a 2-0 loss to Germany at a U15 International Tournament held in Bruno de Marchi, Italy. Jones was selected as part of the 2013 Sky Sports Victory Shield Scotland Squad, alongside fellow Hearts teammate Sean McKirdy. He would go to captain the side to victory in a 1-0 win over England on November 29, 2013, becoming the first to do so since 1998. During his international youth career, Jones would represent and captain the under-15, under-16 and under-17 national sides, amassing 12 youth caps.

The centre back started out with Hearts, departing for the States in his late teens, where he played college football with Kentucky Wildcats for 4 years from 2017, broken with a spell at Chicago FC United of the USL League Two in 2019. The 23-year-old landed back in Scotland in the summer of 2021 hoping for a homeland deal, and made one trial appearance for Partick Thistle in a 3-2 friendly win away to Kelty Hearts, replacing Darren Brownlie at half-time. In August 2021, Jones joined Dunfermline Athletic on a one-year contract. Having made only 2 appearances for the club, Jones left Dunfermline at the end of the season. On 19 December 2022, Jones joined Eastern. He instantly made impact in Eastern's defence and being highly rated by local media. He played 10 times for his new club and scored once. His appearance in his first season in Hong Kong was limited due to injuries.
