Leonard Dowell was born on Friday, 13th June, 1902, in Edinburgh.

The 5' 8 (11st 0lbs) forward signed for George Easton's Thistle on Monday, 18th August, 1924, having most recently been with Portobello Thistle.

Aged 22, he made his only appearance on Thursday, 1st January, 1925, in a 3-0 defeat at home to Third Lanark in the SFL First Division.

There were no goals for Len in his one-off appearance for Thistle.

His club-list included Portobello Thistle, Partick Thistle, Sittingbourne, Gillingham and Ashford Town.

Len died on Wednesday, 15th June, 1966, in Edinburgh, aged 64.
