  • Relegated Partick Thistle and Raith Rovers, together with promoted Gretna (champions) and Peterhead (runners-up) were the new participants.
  • 3 pts for a win, 1 pt for a draw. Rules for classification: 1) Points; 2) Goal difference; 3) Goals scored.

  • Abbreviations (where necessary): P = Promoted; PPOL = Promotion play-offs loser; PPOW = Promotion play-offs winner; RPOW = Relegation play-offs winner; R = Relegated.
  • First season of a new SFL Play-Off system whereby the 2nd bottom side of the higher League and the 2nd, 3rd and 4th placed sides of the lower League compete in a 4 team Cup-style competition, with the winner retaining / assuming the place of the 2nd bottom side in the higher League.
