The defender signed for Thistle in August, 1899, having most recently been with Cambuslang Hibernian.

He made his first known appearance on Thursday, 27th April, 1899, in a 3-2 friendly defeat at home to Derby County.

There were no known goals for Rae during his spell with Thistle.

He played his last known game for the club on Tuesday, 15th August, 1899, in a 4-3 friendly defeat at home to Clyde, having appeared for the Thistle on at least 3 occasions.

His club-list included Cambuslang Hibernian and Partick Thistle.
