 Kirkpatrick (forename unknown) was probably born in Scotland, although his place and date of birth remain unknown to us. * The forward was possibly a guest player for George Easton's Thistle in January, 1907. He made his only appearance on Thursday, 3rd January, 1907, in a 4-0 win at home to Queen's Park in a Benefit match. There were no goals for Kirkpatrick in his one-off appearance for Thistle. His known club-list included only Partick Thistle. We don't know where or when Kirkpatrick died. *

 Tom Harvey had spent 8 seasons with Thistle and was well thought of; around 5,000 turned out for his benefit match in January 1907, as Thistle defeated Queen's Park by 4 to nil at Meadowside. £50 was raised for the player. The money would come in handy; just two months later the 26-year-old sustained a career-ending injury in a typically bruising affair with Port Glasgow. On the night, the 'keeper, backs and half-backs were all established first-team players, but the forward line was experimental; Kirkpatrick, Bob McTavish, Currie and Rankin were all first-team one-offs. Bob McTavish and Currie were on trial from Petershill. We don't know where Kirkpatrick came from, but it's likely he was another trialist from the juniors. He played at inside right in the game. All Thistle's forwards shone well and were praised for their clever dribbling work. “At times they moved along with some nice combinative work, and on occasion tricked the defence most cutely” reported the Referee. Despite this positivity, none of the quoted four put pen to paper on senior terms. |
