Kieran Burns was born on Tuesday, 24th March, 1992, in Duntocher, West Dunbartonshire. The 5' 10 (11st 0lbs) forward signed for Ian McCall's Thistle on Wednesday, 27th May, 2009, having most recently been with Partick Thistle U-17. Aged 18, he made his debut appearance on Saturday, 3rd April, 2010, in a 2-0 defeat away to Airdrie United in the SFL First Division. Kieran scored his only goal for Thistle on Tuesday, 19th July, 2011, in a 4-1 friendly defeat away to Dumbarton. He played his last game for the club on Saturday, 5th May, 2012, in a 2-2 draw away to Hamilton Academical in the SFL First Division, having appeared as a Jag on 18 occasions. Kieran's club-list included Partick Thistle, Clydebank, Irvine Meadow XI and St Joseph's. |
Stepped up from the Thistle youth squad to a full time position at the Club in the summer of 2009 and made his first-team debut towards the end of that season, playing 5 times from the bench in all. Missed virtually all of season 2010/2011 through injury and joined Clydebank on loan in September 2011. Was recalled to Firhill a few months later and appeared 5 times before the end of the season, mostly from the bench. Left Thistle that summer and joined Irvine Meadow for season 2012-13, before returning to Premier League rivals Clydebank for a second spell in January 2013. By the end of season 2013-14, Kieran had stepped back to the amateur grade with St Joseph's. |
