A former Scotland youth international at multiple age levels, McInroy, a product of Celtic, made his senior debut while on loan with hometown team Dunfermline; he made 22 appearances for the Pars during the 20/21 term as they finished fourth in the Championship. The following season brought further loan moves at Airdrieonians and Ayr United where he scored six times in 26 games across the two spells, earning him a permanent move to Rugby Park. On 13 July 2022 he made his debut for Derek McInnes’ side as a late substitute against Thistle in the Premier Sports Cup before going on to score his first Killie goal against Montrose three days later. At the time of signing for the Jags in early August 2023, Thistle gaffer Kris Doolan commented: “He’s a player who I think has a bit of everything – he can use the ball very well and has a great shot on him but also works hard and covers plenty of ground. Multi-faceted players like that are valuable to any team. At just 22 he’s got room to grow too so we want to give him the platform to go and do that. That being said, he’s already a fantastic player and I’m excited to be working with him this season.” Kerr made his Jags debut in our league opener against Raith Rovers. The midfielder went on to score his first Thistle goals in his next league appearance as we beat Queen’s Park 3-1. He finished the campaign with five goals and 10 assists to his name in all competitions. |
