Kallum Michael Higginbotham was born on Thursday, 15th June, 1989, in Salford, Greater Manchester.

The 5' 10 (10st 10lbs) forward signed for Alan Archibald's Thistle on Thursday, 8th August, 2013, having most recently been with Huddersfield Town.

Aged 24, he made his debut appearance on Saturday, 10th August, 2013, in a 3-1 win away to Ross County in the SPFL Premiership.

Kallum scored his first goal for Thistle on Saturday, 31st August, 2013, in a 2-1 win away to St Mirren in the SPFL Premiership.

He scored the last of his 11 goals on Saturday, 13th September, 2014, in a 3-1 win at home to Inverness Caledonian Thistle in the SPFL Premiership.

He played his last game for the club on Saturday, 23rd May, 2015, in a 0-0 draw away to Motherwell in the SPFL Premiership, having appeared as a Jag on 80 occasions.

At July, 2023, Kallum's club-list included Salford City, Oldham Athletic, Rochdale, Accrington Stanley, Falkirk, Huddersfield Town, Barnsley, Carlisle United, Motherwell, Partick Thistle, Kilmarnock, Dunfermline Athletic, Real Kashmir, Kelty Hearts and Tranent.

Higginbotham built a wealth of experience playing professional football, beginning his career with Salford City before signing for Oldham at the age of 18, where he went on to play in their Reserves Squad. In 2007, Higginbotham joined Rochdale, where he made 79 appearances for the Dale over a 3 season period which included 2 loan spells with Accrington Stanley. Whilst at Rochdale, Higginbotham scored the leagues 'Goal of the Year' from the halfway line in a 4-2 win. He was in the Rochdale side which won promotion to League One in 2010.

Next up for the striker was his first spell in Scotland, for Falkirk, where he spent a season and a half. In January 2012, Higginbotham was awarded 'Man of the Match' in the League Cup Semi-Final against Celtic - his last match for the Bairns. Higginbotham next spent some time at Huddersfield and played in the clubs League One play-off final which saw the side promoted to the Championship in 2012. During his time at Huddersfield, Higginbotham also spent time on loan with Barnsley, Carlisle and Motherwell.

After struggling to maintain a place in the Huddersfield squad, Higginbotham headed back up north to join SPL side Partick Thistle where he made over 70 competitive appearances, scoring on 10 occasions, including an overhead kick for his first goal at Firhill. Higginbotham spent a season with Kilmarnock in 2015-16, as the East Ayrshire side narrowly avoid relegation from the SPL. Higginbotham next spent 3 seasons with Dunfermline Athletic where he played in 114 matches, scoring on 18 occasions. The final stop on the road to Kelty Hearts was a season with Real Kashmir in the Indian I-League, where he made 10 appearances scoring 2 goals for the side.

In July 2023 - after 3 seasons at Kelty where Higginbotham scored 17 goals in 54 League games - the ambitious Tranent (renamed from Tranent Juniors) signed the winger with a view to challenging for the Lowland League title and a place in the SPFL.
