John Spence |
![]() John Spence was probably born in Scotland, although his place and date of birth remain unknown to us. * The forward signed for Thistle on Tuesday, 5th February, 1901 (after a trial game), having most recently been with Partick Athletic. He made his debut appearance on Saturday, 26th January, 1901, in a 3-0 friendly win at home to Ayr Parkhouse. That day, John became a member of our scoring debutant's club, and even added a second for good measure. He scored the last of his 9 goals on Saturday, 23rd November, 1901, in a 3-1 win at home to Hamilton Academical in the SFL Second Division. He played his last game for the club on Saturday, 7th December, 1901, in a 1-0 win at home to Leith Athletic in the SFL Second Division, having appeared as a Jag on 19 occasions. His club-list included Partick Athletic and Partick Thistle. We don't know where or when John died. *
