 John Robertson was probably born in Scotland, although his place and date of birth remain unknown to us. * The forward temporarily transferred to Thistle in April, 1901, from his parent club, Motherwell. He made his debut appearance on Saturday, 20th April, 1901, in a 3-0 defeat away to Clyde in the Western League. There were no goals for John during his spell with Thistle. He played his last game for the club on Tuesday, 14th May, 1901, in a 2-0 friendly defeat at home to Rangers, having appeared as a Jag on 5 occasions. His club-list included Motherwell, Partick Thistle and Clyde. We don't know where or when John died. *
