Bio Extra

Signed from Auchengill Boys' Club, John made the first team almost immediately, and for the tail end of 86/87 and the following season he impressed greatly. However, he was unable to repeat his good form in the next two seasons, and although he played regularly in 88/89, he played only occasionally in his last season. Could on occasion prove to be a match winner from midfield but was too inconsistent. Scored in the 1989 Glasgow Cup Final to win a winners' medal. A local boy, he remained in Maryhill when he moved from Thistle to Clyde as part of the deal that saw Colin McGlashan come to Thistle. A broken leg severely hampered his progress with Clyde and, moved to the Juniors with Shotts.
