John Lowe McGoldrick was born on Thursday, 30th June, 1988, in Bellshill, North Lanarkshire.

The 5' 11 (11st 4lbs) forward signed for Derek Whyte & Gerry Britton's Thistle on Friday, 4th June, 2004, having most recently been with Partick Thistle Boys Club.

Aged 17, he made his debut appearance on Tuesday, 12th July, 2005, in a 3-2 friendly defeat away to Buckie Thistle.

John scored his only goal for Thistle on Thursday, 14th July, 2005, in a 2-1 friendly defeat away to Deveronvale.

He played his last game for the club on Tuesday, 23rd January, 2007, in a 0-0 draw at home to Rangers XI in a Benefit match, having appeared as a Jag on 21 occasions.

John's club-list included Partick Thistle, Albion Rovers and Lesmahagow.

Bio Extra

A Scotland youth internationalist, McGoldrick got his first taste of men's football with Thistle in the 2005 pre-season, and the 17-year-old got on the scoresheet in a Highland tour game at Deveronvale. First team opportunities were limited for the striker, and he spent the latter part of 2006-07 on loan with Albion Rovers in Division Three, but only made four appearances from the bench for the Coatbridge outfit. A popular lad, he appeared in the testimonial games for both Kenny Arthur and John Lambie. Last I heard he was playing with Lesmahagow in 2007-08.
