 John Gerard Marr was born on Sunday, 3rd June, 1956, in Glasgow. The 6' 0 (12st 6lbs) midfielder signed for Bertie Auld's Thistle on Wednesday, 8th January, 1975, having most recently been with Petershill. Aged 18, he made his debut appearance on Wednesday, 12th March, 1975, in a 2-0 friendly win at home to Vejle Boldklub. John scored his only goal for Thistle on Monday, 28th July, 1975, in a 4-0 friendly win away to Nairn County. He played his last game for the club on Tuesday, 16th December, 1980, in a 3-1 win away to Clyde in the Glasgow Cup, having clocked up 195 appearances as a Jag. John's club-list included Petershill, Partick Thistle and Morton. |
