John Lindsay |
John Lindsay was born on Tuesday, 11th December, 1900, in Cardenden, Fife. The 5' 9 (11st 6lbs) forward signed for George Easton's Thistle on Saturday, 18th October, 1924, having most recently been with Clyde. Aged 23, he made his debut appearance on Saturday, 25th October, 1924, in a 3-3 draw at home to Heart of Midlothian in the SFL First Division. John scored his first goal for Thistle on Saturday, 8th November, 1924, in a 2-2 draw at home to Motherwell in the SFL First Division. He scored the last of his 6 goals on Saturday, 13th November, 1926, in a 5-1 win at home to Airdrieonians in the SFL First Division. He played his last game for the club on Tuesday, 8th February, 1927, in a 7-1 defeat at home to Queen's Park in the SFL First Division, having appeared as a Jag on 20 occasions. His club-list included Clyde, Partick Thistle, Broxburn United, Rhyl Athletic, Liverpool, Swansea Town and Lochgelly Amateurs. John died in 1965, aged 64 or 65, although his place and date of death remain unknown to us. *
