John Leitch was probably born in Scotland, although his place and date of birth remain unknown to us. * The forward signed for Donald Turner's Thistle in September, 1943, having most recently been with Polkemmet. He made his debut appearance on Saturday, 18th September, 1943, in a 4-0 win at home to Albion Rovers in the Southern League. John scored his only two goals for Thistle on the same day; on Saturday, 2nd October, 1943, in a 6-2 defeat at home to Dumbarton in the Southern League. He played his last game for the club on Monday, 3rd January, 1944, in a 2-1 defeat at home to St Mirren in the Southern League, having appeared as a Jag on 7 occasions. John's club-list included Polkemmet, Partick Thistle and Burnbank Athletic.
