John Hastie was probably born in Scotland, although his place and date of birth remain unknown to us. *

The forward signed for Thistle in December, 1902, having most recently been with Carluke Milton Rovers.

He made his debut appearance on Saturday, 6th December, 1902, in a 0-0 draw at home to Celtic in the SFL First Division.

John scored his first two goals for Thistle on Saturday, 3rd January, 1903, in a 4-2 win at home to Port Glasgow Athletic in the SFL First Division.

He scored the last of his 4 goals on Saturday, 28th March, 1903, in a 2-2 draw away to Dundee in the Inter City League.

He played his last game for the club on Saturday, 7th January, 1905, in a 3-1 win at home to Queen's Park in the SFL First Division, having appeared as a Jag on 26 occasions.

His club-list included Carluke Milton Rovers, Partick Thistle, Bathgate, Dykehead, Heart of Midlothian and Hamilton Academical.
