John Thomas Fitzsimmons was born on Wednesday, 3rd March, 1915, in Glasgow.

The forward appeared for Donald Turner's Thistle in May, 1944, having most recently been with Falkirk.

Aged 29, he made his only appearance on Saturday, 13th May, 1944, in a 3-0 defeat away to Rangers in the Glasgow Charity Cup.

There were no goals for John in his one-off appearance for Thistle.

His club-list included St Roch's, Celtic, Alloa Athletic, Clyde, East Fife, Falkirk and Partick Thistle.

John died on Sunday, 3rd September, 1995, aged 80.
