John Daisley |
John Daisley was probably born in Scotland, although his place and date of birth remain unknown to us. * The midfielder had a spell with Thistle in the autumn of 1889, whilst a Laurieston player. He made his first appearance on Saturday, 14th September, 1889, in a 3-2 friendly win at home to Cambuslang. There were no known goals for John during his spell with Thistle. He played his last game for the club on Saturday, 26th October, 1889, in a 5-0 friendly defeat away to Cowlairs, having appeared for the Thistle on 6 occasions. His club-list included Laurieston and Partick Thistle. We don't know where or when John died. *

This half-back from Laurieston had a 6-week spell at Thistle in September/October 1889, registering 4 wins and 2 defeats. Played once in competitive action as the Jags won 4-1 at Summerton Athletic to get their Glasgow Cup campaign off to a winning start. It's unclear what the exact arrangement was, but a 5-0 defeat at Cowlairs signalled the end of it. Erroneously listed as 'Paisley' on occasion. |
