John Vaughan Craig was born on Friday, 10th April, 1953, in Glasgow.

The 5' 6½ (9st 3lbs) forward signed for Bertie Auld's Thistle on Saturday, 15th March, 1975, having most recently been with Aberdeen.

Aged 21, he made his debut appearance on Wednesday, 19th March, 1975, in a 1-0 defeat away to Celtic in the Glasgow Cup.

John scored his first goal for Thistle on Saturday, 16th August, 1975, in a 4-2 win away to St Johnstone in the League Cup.

He scored the last of his 9 goals on Saturday, 2nd September, 1978, in a 2-2 draw (on pens aet) away to Falkirk in the League Cup.

That turned out to be his last game for the club, having clocked up 150 appearances as a Jag.

His club-list included Chelsea, Aberdeen, Partick Thistle, Heart of Midlothian, Morton and Keith.

John died on Monday, 21st November, 2005, in Tenerife, aged 52.
