John Good Gilchrist Cossar was born on Tuesday, 20th February, 1900, in Haddington, East Lothian.

The forward signed for George Easton's Thistle on Saturday, 13th August, 1921, having most recently been with Haddington Athletic.

Aged 21, he made his only appearance on Tuesday, 23rd August, 1921, in a 3-3 draw at home to Clydebank FC in a Benefit match.

There were no goals for John in his one-off appearance for Thistle.

His club-list included Haddington Athletic, Partick Thistle, Dunfermline Athletic, Wallyford Bluebell and Port Glasgow Athletic Juniors.

John died sometime between 20th February 1961 and 31st March 1961, in Bristol, aged 61. *

Bio Extra

This right winger had one full season with Thistle, although he spent all of his time with the reserves, excepting one low-key benefit game in August - a 3-3 draw with Clydebank. He was loaned out to Dunfermline Athletic for a short spell in April 1922 before returning to the junior grade.
