Colquhoun was probably born in Scotland, although his place and date of birth remain unknown to us. * The goalkeeper signed for George Easton's Thistle on Saturday, 24th May, 1913, having most recently been with St Anthony's. He made his debut appearance on Tuesday, 26th August, 1913, in a 1-0 win at home to Rangers in a Benefit match. In doing so, John joined the goalies' clean-sheet debutant's club. He kept his third and last clean-sheet on Saturday, 6th March, 1915, in a 0-0 draw away to Aberdeen in the SFL First Division. He played his last game for the club on Thursday, 21st August, 1919, in a 3-1 defeat away to Rangers in a Benefit match, having appeared as a Jag on 14 occasions. His club-list included St Anthony's, Partick Thistle and Vale of Leven. We don't know where or when John died. *
