He made his debut appearance on Saturday, 17th August, 1907, in a 2-2 draw at home to Morton in the SFL First Division. John scored his first goal for Thistle on Thursday, 20th August, 1908, in a 3-2 win away to Clyde in a Benefit match. He scored the last of his 5 goals on Saturday, 13th March, 1909, in a 4-2 defeat away to Hamilton Academical in the SFL First Division. He played his last game for the club on Wednesday, 28th April, 1909, in a 1-0 defeat away to Heart of Midlothian in the SFL First Division, having appeared as a Jag on 32 occasions. His club-list included Benburb and Partick Thistle. We don't know where or when John died. *
